Grapette Among South's Favorites
Southern Living Says Grapiest Grape Soda Still Gaining Fans
May 1, 2004 - Grapette is one of the South's best flavors according to a recent article in Southern Living. In the magazine's Spring 2004 special issue featuring Southern Living favorites, Grapette was ranked among the top-ten "Beverages To Order" and top-200 "Food Finds" in the South.
For the first time, Southern Living asked its staff to submit their favorite food finds from "the finest dishes in the most elegant bistros to the best inexpensive snacks at grab-and-go stores." After all as the magazine points out: "Every year, Southern Living eats its way across the South. As our staff explores the towns, hamlets, and cities of our region, we sample as many meals as we can."
The top-200 "Food Finds" don't seem to be ranked in any particular order, but Grapette is listed 15th on the first page of the feature. Southern Living simply says Grapette has been "gaining fans since 1940."
Grapette was also mentioned in a Southern Living issue from June 2002 in a Postscript feature entitled "Southern Culture on the Fizz."
