Grapette To Be "Unwrapped' By Food Network
Primetime Series Goes Behind-The-Scenes

January 11, 2007 - Ever wonder where the grape flavor in your soda comes from? Well, that's one of the things Unwrapped found out recently when the popular Food Network show visited Grapette International, Inc. in Malvern. Unwrapped - a weekly primetime series that "uncovers behind-the-scenes details on classic American food' - taped a feature segment at Grapette headquarters in January.

A production crew based in Colorado coordinated the day-long shoot which included a facility tour, a step-by-step demonstration of Grapette's production process, displays of historic photos and memorabilia, multiple interviews, and a trip to see the final product on the shelves at a local Wal-Mart store.

"It was a thrill to have Unwrapped here and watch them work,' says David Rice, Grapette International Vice President of Marketing. "Our employees got a real kick out of seeing the lights and cameras in our building. Our folks were doing what they do every day, but it was a little different experience for them - being on camera.'

Hosted by Marc Summers, Unwrapped focuses each half-hour episode "on a different tasty topic and reveals some of the products' most interesting and fun secrets along the way.' The segment featuring Grapette will be a part of an upcoming episode showcasing grapey foods and drinks. Unwrapped plans to focus on Grapette's unique history and the production process used to make the "retro' soft drink.

"We have quite a story to tell and couldn't think of a better place to share it than on Unwrapped,' added Rice. "But we have so much history, I just hope they're able to edit down what could easily be a feature-length documentary.'

New episodes of Unwrapped debut Mondays at 8 p.m. Central on the Food Network. The show featuring Grapette is scheduled to air later this year.
